Reconstructing

I'm almost 40,000 words into my novel now. Even with the outline, nothing has happened yet. I know that things are going to be happening. Soon. But so far I have 40,000 words of set up and generic relationships.

Because sometimes life throws your curveballs

And you have to be able to adapt. I've been sick since Saturday. Sore throat, chest congestion, bowling ball head, you know the kind. I still got my word count in on Saturday though. Yesterday I did not.

I get by with a little help from my friends..

This is a post about help. I don't normally accept help very well, and there are two reasons behind that. One: I feel awkward asking. I don't ever want to put someone else out so I would rather just do whatever it is myself then to have to ask someone to help me get it done.
And Two: I am a control freak. I will admit it. I like to do things myself because then I know they are done the way that I want them done.

Snow Day!

My husband enforced a snow day on me last night. We got a few inches of snow but the Chrysler 300 does NOT do well with any kind of precipitation so he took the Pilot to work and asked me to chill today. He reminded me that I am "very pregnant" and that sometimes I forget. Haha. True. He also stopped on his way home from work last night and picked me up a diet doctor pepper so that I would have absolutely NO reason to go out in it today. Love him!

Today!

Today was a huge day for me. I wrote 6,688 words! I did that along with all of my usual housework. Those who follow me on Twitter, got to watch my progress. Hopefully I wasn't too obnoxious! I also found a new band to be obsessed with, The Paper Kites. They are so fun!

That's the life!

As I sit here at my desk, with my feet propped up, getting some writing done my husband is downstairs dusting! He is wonderful! He has been working twelve hour days because its Outage time, and has a limited number of days off before H comes, and he chose to let me have the day off instead of him today!

Updates....

Whew! It feels nice to sit for a minute and catch my breath! I even managed a 'rest' today in between holding the leveler for my husband while he hung pictures in the baby's room, holding the base of the light while he installed a new dining room light, running to drop off a donation at Goodwill, and going through packages of baby things that were delivered today.

Done!

I'm finally done with my outline. Well, as done as I can be at this point. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the third plot point for my story, but I was able to get a ton figured out in the past two days. My overall outline ended up being a bit over 10,000 words, including my scenes outline, character bios, and plot points that I wrote out and decided to go ahead and plug in so I know what I am working toward.

More on Outlining...

The further I get into this project, the more I realize that it is WAY bigger then I originally thought. Outlining takes a lot of work and dedication. I realized that I was less prepared then I thought that I was. To push myself along, on top of the previous books I recommended I have also been taking tips from these two books.
