#WIPMARATHON Intro

Well guys, here we are again! Its been so long since I've blogged. Sorry for neglecting all of you. I do have some good excuses though. First, my parents moved in and lived with us for three months after they sold their house, so that was pretty hectic. Then, in the middle of their stay I found out that I was pregnant with baby #2 who is set to arrive in the middle of June! That along with chasing my nine month old around and there was no time for anything!

Good news is life has slowed down and since the holiday's are behind us things are going to start getting back to normal. Which means I will be able to write again!!

Its time to get serious. Its so easy to make excuses -even if they are good ones- as to why I haven't been doing what I love doing most in the world. But the truth is, no one is going to make me write but me. No one can make this dream a reality but me. And its time that I make some real goals and start meeting them.

So. Here goes.

I did the WIPMarathon a few months back and it helped tremendously. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who needs the community and accountability in meeting their goals. Ifeoma Dennis has come up with this awesome group that does just that. If you want more information, or feel like joining us go here.

So heres my intro:

MARATHON GOAL: My goal for this marathon is to write 40k words. The story that I have been plotting will ideally be 80k and I'd like to have it written by February.

STAGE OF WRITING: This will be the first draft!

WHAT INSPIRED MY CURRENT PROJECT: This is a story that I have been thinking about for a while now. I did a rough outline at the beginning of the year but I was already wrapped up in two projects at the time. After going back through recently and looking over my notes I got really excited about it all over again and I can't wait to get started on it :)

WHAT MIGHT SLOW DOWN MY MARATHON GOAL: I have a nine month old little girl, I am four months pregnant and have a husband who works a swing shift so a lot of times the brunt of the responsibility of housekeeping and taking care of the baby fall to me. It doesn't sound like much but by the end of the day when I finally have a moment to sit, I'm beat.

BEST TIME OF THE DAY FOR WRITING: Either early morning before my monster gets up or late at night when she is tucked in bed :)

  2. Good luck! My friends just had babies so I can see how difficult it can be to get some alone time. I'm glad you're joining us again. And congrats on Baby #2!!! :)
